We receive a lot of comments from our Bow Lake Adventures. Here's a few to give you an idea of the sorts of things we hear from the groups: Sunday, August 12th, 2007
Hi Doug,
Well we had an amazing 3 days with you, Julie and the boys. It was so laid back yet the skiing was full on!
Madi, Phoebe & Alun definitely improved with the skiing and I really enjoyed pretending I was 20 again and attempting wakeboarding. The hot tub was great while we waited for our turn....a great way to get to know the others on the camp.
The property was so beautiful and hearing the coyotes at night was great....as were the smores over the campfire.
We will be back....and hope to see the Bermuda flag fluttering on the island.
Kim, Alun, Madison & Phoebe - your Bermuda ski friends.

Hello Doug,
We do represent very well Bow Lake this last tournament.
Both Vicente and Santiago capture first places in all three events on Boys 2.
Very good performance for Santiago in tricks and Jump.
Vicente get his PB in slalom with 2 @28 off.
Everybody ask where we train and we were proud to mention Bow Lake.

Thank you again for the lessons on the lake! I appreciate your patience and “going with the slow flow”, including a visit from my Mom. Thanks for the push to get there this season—was really great!
Warning—We’ll be back!!

WHAT I DID ON MY SUMMER VACATION
By Michelle E.
1. Bought a weekly time slot at Bow Lake
2. Developed a sudden aversion to skiing on public water, causing me to max out my Visa card signing up for every available camp & weekend at Bow.
3. Met many fabulous fellow ski chicks at Ladies Weekend I & II.
4. Gleefully neglected non-skiing friends, family, & job.
5. Improved the quality & consistency of my slalom skiing and wakeboarding, thanks to Micah & Tom’s world class coaching.
6. Developed a Pavlovian association between course skiing & REO Speedwagon, thanks to the bizarre musical tastes of my boat crew.
7. Sustained minor liver damage & episodic hypothermia trying to keep up with the Bow After Hours scene.
8. Spent a memorable season at an unbeatable venue, in the company of exceptional & fun-loving people. Thank you to Doug, Julie, Sue, & Bow Boyz for all of your hospitality!

Hey Micah,
I really enjoyed the chance to ski and spend the weekend with you and
the crew back in August. Tell the crew hello!!!!!!!!
I have attempted to find lakes to ski with a course here in SLC, but it
has been difficult as there are only a few and they are all private. I'll have to come do it again when I'm up there on business.
take care,

Micah and Tom...
You guys rock! I had a blast yesterday, and after
just the one day, I feel like I look a lot less
retarded on a wakeboard. So many new things to work
on after you guys pushed me to try new stuff... I'm
more excited to get out and ride than I have been in a long time! Thanks again for everything! I can't wait to come back!

Hi Guys,
This is Marcee. I just wanted to thank you again for a great weekend! Micah, I can't believe you got me up on one ski--that was so much fun. The weather was too cold for a desert rat like me but I'm glad I lived the Bow Lake experience for a weekend. I'd been hearing so much about it for the past four months!
So, I just wanted to let you know that we made it home safely and my mom, Bob and I miss Su's cooking already! I hope to see you all again next year, and I'll definitely bring a few Arizona friends with me!
Thanks for everything,
-Marcee McKernan, Phoenix, AZ

Micah and Doug,
You MUDDER FUGGERS! I could barely get up and out of bed today, and I actually had to have my daughter help me with one of my socks. To top it off one of my toes was black and blue from the last spill I had into the weeds. After sitting in my chair for three hours, I just tried to get up and walk to the front door, but I couldn't even do that without much pain and agony. CRAP, I'm here for the day until my wheel chair arrives. I'll keep my phone on in case "I've fallen and can't get up".
Bottom line. Thanks again for the great food, great instruction, soothing hot tub and the pain. What a class act establishment and a great time. That's all I can write as my fingers actually hurt as well.
Thanks again,
-Jason Shaw

Hi Doug, Julie, Micah, et al:
I just wanted to let you know what a great weekend I had this past weekend (April 22nd & 23rd). Although I am not much of a skier (compared to the rest of my group), I enjoyed myself in a huge way. You and your staff really made us all feel at home and the skiing was great!
I took some pretty good photos but my wife made a great suggestion for you. You should consider having someone in the boat taking some digital pics while your guests are skiing and selling some of the good shots to them. It may sound a bit cheezy but I think a lot of people might go for it, specially the kids (or their parents)!
Thanks again and I will definately be back.
Best Regards,
-Dave Carlson

I felt compelled to write you a personal note about our amazing experience last weekend. because of your hospitality, friendliness (even your children--Chad and Dani--they are great kids), delicious and plentiful food, fantastic accommodations, and expert ski and wakeboard instruction, my family had one of those weekends we will cherish in our hearts forever. We have a lot of great weekends, but this was one of the epic, legendary family getaways that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
I also want to throw in a special note on Micah. he was very professional. it was nice to have a "coach" who took my skiing as seriously as I did--he wasn't afraid to push me to work harder. He's the kind of guy you want to ski well for because you don't want to let him down, let alone yourself.
This was my first time skiing buoys and I'm hooked. I need to find a local lake where I can practice before I come back. I plan to be back every year at least once. I am already spreading the news and trying to get some people lined up, so you'll be hearing from me soon.
Thanks again.

My son, Parker (seven years old) and I took lessons with you on Thursday, August 11th in the evening. I took lessons because I have never been able to get up (I am in my 40's) and I was vacationing the next week with a good friend who happens to be an avid wake boarder. He has tried to get me up for the last three years. He recently took lessons from you and recommended that I give you a try. At my lesson you were able to get me up (it took a few times), but most important, I want to thank you for your patience. I spent the next week wake boarding (I had a great time). My son also enjoyed your lessons and he advanced quite a bit during vacation.
Thanks again!

Dear Doug, Julie, Micah and Sue,
I just wanted to say thank you for the great instruction you gave my 11-year-old son Evan during his recent camp with you at the end of June. We have our own ski boat and live near Lake Sammamish and are able to go wake-boarding just about any time. However, as hard he tried, Evan just could not get up with the "help" I was able to give him. When we arrived the first day at camp you assured us that he would be wakeboarding by the end of camp. Just as you promised, we arrived the last day to see Evan wakeboarding, smiling ear to ear. For the rest of the summer Evan was the first one in and the last one off the lake. I wish I had not waited so long to get him some "professional" training. I am now planning my own Bow Lake get-away camp with you for next year.
Thank you for everything.

Doug, Julie, Micah, and Sue...
I wanted to let you know that ever since Lucas got home all he can do is watch his DVD, talk about the tricks Micah taught him, how much fun he had and how good of a cook Sue is! He keeps telling me "that was the best camp ever Mom!" And wants to know when the next one is?! :) Thanks so much for doing "kids camps" and teaching them so much! Lucas had a great time and now is "hooked on boarding!"

Thanks again, Doug

Doug and Staff:
I left your camp a couple of days ago. After my stay at your lake, I just had to write to tell other Wakeboarders and skiers about your totally awesome camp! So here goes: During my stay at Bow Lake, I made 2 to 3 years worth of improvement in wakeboarding! It was definitely one of the better experiences of my life that I will always remember. And I'm totally going back, not just to board more, but to go back and see all the people there that I have come to know. Not just to see as coaches, but as good friends that will always make you laugh, and will go out of their way to make you comfortable, and push your ability to its limit. Setting goals, and working with you personally to achieve them.
It's not like most camps, it's more like a family inviting around 6 people to their house, practically letting you run it, and teaching you to succeed in the awesome world of water sports, and the even cooler world of fun! If I got to say only one thing to Micah, Steve, Kelly, Doug, Su, Dani, and Chad, to express my feelings, it would be . . .
THANK YOU!!!

Doug;

I was skiing with you guys on the week of August 18th. I just got done with my tourney this weekend and did pretty good. I got third in my division with 4 @ 32 mph. That's my tournament best. I had a great time and learned a lot. Hopefully I could come back next year. I was wondering if you have any Bow lake stickers that you could send me to put on my ski. If you do, send me one and I can promote your lake to all the skiers down here in sunny California. Thanks for the great time!
Sincerely,
-Trevor Iba

Doug;
THAT WAS AWESOME!!! Nick and Randy (I hope I got that name right) were fantastic. Great instructors and great guys. The deep-water starts were pretty easy (despite a few falls); the slalom technique was a little trickier. So I'll need lots of practice.
I will be bringing my wife and 2 boys (8 and 5) out. We just have to figure out when. I'll probably try to do a ski weekend...
Thanks again for hooking me up! We'll have to talk about trading my Bayliner for one of those nice Mastercrafts!!!
Sincerely,
-Kevin Meenaghan

Hi Doug and Julie!
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my stay and Bow Lake and the opportunity to ski with Mark Lane was outstanding. The amount of knowledge he possesses in 3 event skiing is increadible! You have an awesome site for skiing and will look forward to coming back there and recommending it to fellow skiers who are lokking for a place to ski and receive top level coaching.
Sincerely,
-Don Fuller

Doug and Julie:
Wanted to thank you and Julie and crew for a great ski vacation - had a wonderful time getting acquainted with you all. I'm spreading the word to my ski mates about your program. Some of the instructions and tips must have sunk in - I ran my 28' off pass last night (made my first full pass last Monday) - almost made 2 back-to-back.
Best Regards,
-Mike Geist

Doug and Julie:
I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that we had an absolutely exceptional time at Bow Lake this last weekend. Not only is the facility first rate, but you guys really went out of your way to make us feel welcome by inviting us into your very nice house, cooking for and eating with us, and pretty much giving us free run of the place. And you probably hear this a lot, but Nick is a fantastic driver and instructor. Sure, he did trash a couple of the course markers (feel free to put those on my bill), but he's good at pushing people to improve themselves, giving instruction, and he does know his stuff.
